Who Are Hand tied extensions for?
Do you love your current length, but wish you had a little more oomph to it? Have breakage or postpartum hair loss, and want to have hair around your face again? Have that cute short cut, but could use the extra volume? Have you always wanted longer and fuller hair, but your natural hair can’t get there? These are a few real things that I’ve heard from clients that have led them to wearing hand tied extensions!
Hand Tied Extensions & Maintenance
Hand tied extensions provide a natural, full coverage, seamless, customizable blend to anyone who is looking to enhance their natural hair in some way.
A maintenance appointment is recommended every 6-8 weeks to remove and reinstall the hair as your natural hair and extensions have grown out – maintaining a healthy scalp, color match, and natural blend is always the goal!
I want you to thrive with your hair extensions and feel ease in taking care of them at home, so teaching proper home care is very important to me – I’m here to support you!
Hand Tied Extension Pricing
Extension pricing is totally dependent on where we’re starting with your natural hair and what your goal outcome is with hair extensions. Consultations are done over the phone, where we’ll go over pricing and create a plan customized to you! In-person consultations can be requested if that is the most comfortable avenue for you!
New installs are package pricing, and include everything needed for your customized experience (new hair, color to your hair/the extension hair, extension install, cut, style)
Maintenance appointments can be scheduled as just a moveup appointment, or a moveup with color appointment – not everyone needs or wants color at every appointment!
At-Home Hand Tied
Extension Care
Brushing
When brushing your extensions, be sure to avoid brushing directly over your seams.
Brush morning and night, being sure to brush before shampooing!
This will help to avoid matting and tangles.
Always start from your ends and work up the hair to detangle holding one hand on your row to avoid pulling at the root.
Washing
It's recommended to shampoo no more than 1-2 times per week.
Use a moisture masque every other wash. (In between your shampooing and conditioning - squeeze out excess water before application. Let sit for 5-10 minutes).
Post-wash use a leave in detangler and leave in treatment (apply detangler before brushing)
Sulfate free shampoo & conditioners are always best!
Styling
Some hair textures can air dry well, other hair textures need to be blow dried to avoid matting and tangles.
If you choose to air dry, be sure to dry your seams at the top of your row before heat styling.
Always be sure your hair is 100% dry before the use of any heat.
Minimal heat is best for your hair and your extensions.
Pro Tips
You can't have enough moisture! We love using oil+serum twice per day.
Avoid excessive tension on beads when styling your hair.
Sunscreen and extensions don't go together. Be sure to avoid getting sunscreen on your hair extensions when enjoying the sun! They will turn peach. A mineral sunscreen is the best choice. (One that doesn't contain Avobenzone).
