Beaded Row Hair Extensions
In Noblesville, Indiana
What kind of hair extensions do I offer?
There are so many types of hair extensions out there for different needs and purposes. The kind of extensions I offer are beaded row hair extensions. This type of extension method uses hand-tied hair.

The pieces of hand-tied hair are stacked on top of each other to create a row that lays in a halo shape across your scalp.

Because we are using beads, and sewing the row into beadwork, this type of extension method is designed for someone who is wanting a more long term extension look. Imagine waking up everyday to good, full hair!

Every 6-8 weeks, a move up appointment is needed to remove the extensions and reinstall them, since they've grown out as your natural hair has grown.
What is my preferred type of hair extension method?
I have worked with a couple of different types of extension methods, and the reason that I have landed on beaded row extensions is because I find that they are the most gentle on the natural hair. Because of how the beads are laid, there are fewer points of contact to the scalp, as opposed to a method that has every inch of your hair attached to some type of extension.

I have found that the rows overall, give the best amount of coverage, and have flexibility to adjust extension placement to fit each individual’s needs and goals with what they’re trying to get out of hair extensions.
What is a Row?
Our Indianapolis beaded row hair extensions use hand-tied hair extensions wefts. A weft is what each individual piece of extension hair is called. A row is created when multiple pieces of extension hair are stacked on top of each other.

The number of wefts used per row is dependant on the density of your natural hair, as well as what your goal outcome is (what you’re hoping to get out of wearing hair extensions)
What is Hand-Tied Hair?
When it comes to beaded row hair extension methods, there are a few different types of hair that can be used with these methods: hand-tied, machine tied, and hybrid wefts. Each of these types of hair extensions are intended for different uses, and have different pros and cons. Hand-tied hair is the flattest and lightest of the wefts mentioned above– This allows the rows to lay flat, since pieces of hair are stacked on top of each other, and overall feels light and not bulky. People often think that hand-tied hair is the method, but it is actually just a type of hair extension.
How many pieces are typically needed per row?
It’s totally different for each person, depending on their natural density and what their goal is with wearing hair extensions.

The typical range is 3-6 extension wefts per row.

My goal is always to make your extensions look the most natural as possible, feel comfortable, and create the best blend so that you can feel confident and ease with styling and taking care of your extensions at home. Putting enough hair in a row is what creates a natural, seamless look.
Why do I need my extensions to be shaped after installing them if I don't want to lose length?
The extension “cut” after installing is the most crucial step in creating a realistic, natural, extension look! But don’t worry, we can shape and blend the hair extensions and the natural hair together without losing any of the extension length.

Removing corners and creating shape around the head and face is what the goal with the extension “cut” is.
Why do i need a moveup every 6-8 weeks?
The number one priority with installing extensions is scalp/hair health.

Every time we do a moveup, I try to slightly change where the row lays to ensure that the same hair isn’t going into beads every time, causing minimal tension.

Many times, people are wanting extensions to help fill in the hair around their face.As your natural hair grows out, your extension hair also grows out and back, which when grown out for too long, can leave your natural hair looking disconnected from the extensions.

I have found that the 6-8 week mark is the sweet spot for not having your hair feel so grown out that it’s unmanageable. This avoids any unnecessary tangling or breakage, it allows us to have your hair be put in the proper placement again to avoid any look of disconnection, and it allows us to have the time to address your color and the extension colors to make sure that the match is still where we want it to be!
Will I be able to feel the extensions in my head?
For the first couple days after getting them installed, yes! At the end of the day it is something foreign attached to your hair. As a first time extension wearer, it’s more of being aware that something is in your hair. The more you get used to having them, the less you notice them – it feels kind of like a tight baseball cap for the first few days to a week after your initial install. Everyone’s scalps are different, and some are more sensitive than others!
Will my extensions show?
This is most clients’ number one concern, and something I am always keeping in mind! And is why correct placement and custom color are so important. I will always do my best to place the row based on what needs the client is trying to fill (within parameters) – keeping color fresh and matching on both the row and the head, is what will ensure when your hair moves or when the wind blows, that your rows are still as concealed as possible.

This is the beauty of beaded rows – there is so much flexibility with switching up row placement on your head. If anything with placement needs to be tweaked (the row needs to move forward, back, higher, or lower, etc.) we can always switch things up at the following moveup appointment! This is something I am constantly checking in with at maintenance appointments – your comfort is priority!
What if I already have hair extensions?
So you are already wearing some method of beaded row hair extensions: maybe you are new to town, or want to try someone new…no worries at all!! Go ahead and fill out the new client consultation form so that I can have an idea of what’s going on with your current hair extensions. As long as your current hair extensions are in good shape, and you're wanting to maintain that similar color range, we can totally work with what you already have!
